The following steps have been taken in a comprehensive program designed to provide procedures for promotion of the Multi-Cultural Ministries.

  • Encourage and assist individual states and regions to initiate and enlarge their work with minority/ethnic groups.
  • Develop strategies for ensuring that the Church of God members of ethnic groups do not break fellowship with the church while in geographic transition.
  • Establish ethnic churches through proper state and territory guidelines. In keeping with the General Assembly Minutes.
  • Assist with multi-cultural emergencies or conflict situations when called upon.
  • Assist departments of the church with research detailing the parameters of ministering to any given culture. Such planning incorporates the Biblical position that some fields are more receptive to harvesting than others. “Come over into Macedonia and help us” (Acts 16:9).
  • Work cooperatively with various departments in planning multi-cultural conventions at strategic locations both inside and outside the United States.
  • Provide information when requested on specific ethnic groups explicating cultural distinctive and detailing social principles, which would facilitate evangelizing the people.
  • Offer assistance in preparing new missionaries for social transition to help minimize culture shock.
  • Serve as a resource, informational and referral center for all ministers and laypeople of ethnic congregations.
  • Cooperate in the development of literature in the language of the various major ethnic components of the Church of God.
  • Assist ethnic groups in legal and administrative needs. This is especially expedient for ethnic groups who are not interwoven into the fabric of the dominant culture.
